Cushion Cafe MOCKBA

The Café Moscow was planned in 1959 by the architects Josef Kaiser and Horst Bauer as a nationality restaurant and built between 1961 and 1964. What is striking is the transparency of the building, which was achieved through an open atrium design. The entrance area on Karl-Marx Allee is decorated with the 9 × 15 meter mosaic "From the Life of the Peoples of the Soviet Union" by the painter Bert Heller.
