s.wert design

s.wert design are Dirk Berger and Sandra Siewert. Since 2003 they have been creating “cultural souvenirs” dealing with architecture, city planning and the changes that these are undergoing. The products play with urban ornaments and tell stories of the city.

The pillows ‘angry children- facades to cuddle up to’ and the wrapping paper ‘Ruhesitz am Zoo’ aka ‘Retreat from Zoo’ attend to Berlins postwar modern architecture. The book „Von der Partei zur Party“ shows how the Berlin tv tower turns from a socialistic symbol to a subcultural icon. Theme of the table cloth „kleinkariert“ (means small minded and also the material gingham) are the suburban sprawls and their houses.
